Our first race weekend of the year and at a whole new location, Otsego in Gaylord! We are so excited to be racing at this new resort and had the best time! Massive thank you to captains Erin Burke, Max Block, Calum Schulz, Will Hallas, and Ashley Binette for working so hard to put together the season and for making this first weekend back so much fun!
On the racecourse this weekend our team preformed outstandingly! In Slalom on Saturday, Kristen Gresla took first, Ashley Binette in fourth, as well as Ellie Williams, Marie Morris, Grace Dempsey, Maya Ellis, Sarah
Burg, and Erin Burke taking 5th-10th place. On our Boys team, Wyatt Mattson took second, Benjamin Aulicino in fifth, and Will Hallas in sixth. Stella Gaydek, our lone snowboarder was able to snag the team 3rd place in her race! After the race on Saturday, we enjoyed a wonderful lasagna meal graciously provided by the Burg Family and spent the rest of the day skiing around Otsego and resting up at the condos.
On Sunday morning we woke up bright and early to head back to Otsego for GS. Marie Morris snagged the girls team 1st place, with Ashley Binette in third, and Lauren Carlson in fourth. On the boy’s side, Wyatt Mattson in second, Calum Schulz in fourth, and Benjamin Aulicino in 8th. After the race we packed up the cars and headed back to Ann Arbor listening to the Detroit Lions win on the radio!
We are looking forward to our next race weekend at Otsego onJanuary 27th and 28th!
